Netflix wanted to promote the upcoming release of Iron Fist season 2 to a young Malaysian audience. We identified and approached ‘Art Lane’, a new location at the heart of Georgetown, Penang, to secure the site for our installation. Our concept was to create an actual fight scene between Danny, Iron Fist, and Davos through street art illustration, props and lighting.
We worked with Singapore artist Eric Foenander and Penang based Thomas Powell. The scene included both key characters - Davos and Danny - the iconic Iron Fist emblem neon sign and a backlit doorway with a fist punch crack for people to pose with. Malaysian coffee shop style seats gave visitors a chance to pose as if they were watching the fight unravel. The entire experience created a high level of relevance and engagement with the local audience
